The 3D model view

To work with 3D models, select the option View from the 3D Model main menu. This opens a new window, called 3D View, where the different 3D objects can be displayed. In Figure 1 the 3D View is showing a scene with several objects.

When the 3D View is active, the following features can be used:

• Show and Hide objects, slices, contours, and dot sets.
• Move the 3D scene to view the objects from any angle and from any distance.
• Make some objects semi-transparent.
• Section the 3D scene.
• Update 3D models.
• Export a 3D scene to an image file or a VRML file.
• Select and display a context menu of an object, a slice, a contour, or a dot set directly from the 3D scene.
• Activate the 2D view for edition of a slice, a contour or a dot set.

Additionally, some object properties affect 3D reconstructions. In particular see the Smoothing property and the Small overlapping correction property.
