Objects Explorer

The Objects Explorer panel shows the objects of a sequence organized in categories. When a slice view is active, it also shows the contours and dot sets of every object in the slice. By default the Objects Explorer panel is on the left of the BioVis3D main window (see User Interface)

Objects Explorer

Figure 1: Objects Explorer

The Objects Explorer displays a tree structure with the sequence in the root. The sequence has categories, and each category has, in turn, a set of objects. Finally, each object is composed of contours and/or dot sets. In Figure 1, there are two categories: BrainCategory and Neurons. Brain is the only object in the category called BrainCategory while there are two objects in the category called Neurons: Neuron1 and Neuron2. The object Brain is delimited by three contours in the open slice. The object Neuron 1 has two dot sets.

Note: When the 3D View is active, the Objects Explorer also shows the slices that intersect each object.

Objects Explorer can be used to add, delete or modify categories, objects, contours and dot sets.
