Dot set properties

To show the properties of a dot set in the Property Panel, select the dot set from the Object Explorer. The Property Panel displays the properties of the dot set as shown in Figure 1.

Name

To change the name of the selected dot set, click on its current value in the Property Panel to edit it. Insert the new value and press Enter. Alternatively, rename a dot set in the Object Explorer. Select the dot set in the Object Explorer and then left click on it to edit the name (notice this is not the same as double clicking.)

Diameter

This property determines the diameter of each dot of the set both when showing it in 3D and when showing it in slice. It is measured in the unit specified by the Unit of Measure sequence property. To modify the diameter, click on its current value in the Property Panel to edit it. Insert the new value and press Enter.

Color

The Color property of a dot set determines the color used for the 3D visualization and 2D visualization of every dot in the set. To change the color of the selected dot set, click the button labeled “…” which appears after clicking on the property, as shown in Figure 2.

This opens a standard color selection dialog box, similar to the one presented in Figure 3.

Count

This property shows the number of dots in the selected dot set. The value of this property cannot be manually edited, BioVis3D keeps track of the number of dots from a set which are added and removed.
